When the world is so cursed, that even the Death will abandon it, then the real end of that world will come... Because a world can't live with such a chaos that even the most fundamental rules are broken, and when the last rule will be broken, the world will die with the most painful death... Because when the Death leaves a world, there will be no live there anymore....

Good luck on the contest! I really like this. It kind of reminds me of the story "Masque of the red death" by Edgar Allen Poe.

Thank you. Although I've never read the "Masque of red death", I consider it as a big compliment that my work reminds of something of Poe, I reallt like him and his spirit, that he puts in poetry.

It is a quick read, you can probably find it on the internet actually. I think what always gets me is the final image you are left with.... no more spoilers.

If it's not on the internet, I can probably find it home. We have a library of three generations home, split between my Russian appartment en the one in the Netherlands. And I doubt that my parents and grandparents decided to skip Edgar Poe.

In my opinion, death is that final reason when our body get destroyed that our soul leaves this world, and no sign of life stays in our body. The reason why we're not immortal and can't stay in pain forever. Because death will come once and finish every feeling and your body and take your soul over the edge, so you won't have to live forever. And when that reason won't exist anymore, the only reason of living, because once you will die, will be taken away. And then pain and distruction can be forever, with no final result...
